The Perfect Backdrop For Your Next Photoshoot

Host your next photoshoot at the Southern Zen™! Our beautiful space features an abundance of natural light, 3 bedrooms and staging areas for getting ready, indoor and outdoor settings, access to wifi and plenty of space for setting up equipment.

Built in 1947, The Southern Zen™’s many windows allow for immense amounts of natural light, creating an open and airy feel throughout. The outdoor space is a Japanese inspired Zen garden including handmade natural water features, custom built seating and a custom built Japanese style foot bridge. A winding rock path leads to the backyard spot that we like to call “Under the Magnolia Tree”, a gorgeous spot that is perfect for photo shoots.

  • How many square feet is the location?

    The Southern Zen™ is 1500 sq ft

  • Is there space for camera and lighting equipment, makeup/hair setup, dressing rooms etc?

    Yes! There is plenty of space and outlets for setting up camera and lighting equipment as well as a makeup/hair stations. There are also 3 bedrooms to use as dressing rooms.

  • Is there parking available?

    Yes! There are 5 parking spaces available on site and street parking/parking lot options close by.

  • Where is it located?

    The Southern Zen™ is a relaxing oasis near downtown Charleston and the Ashley River. Conveniently located in the desired neighborhood of Avondale on a street lined with Live Oaks and Spanish moss.

  • What's the maximum attendees I can have at this location?

    Ann allows 20 attendees on location
